MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
CIT Workday - Saturday, May 13th
Registration begins at 8:00 am and work will begin promptly at 9 am.
We will start our morning off strong with projects ranging from basic garbage pick up to working with power tools. Many of the jobs we need help with include:
Where we like to see our Scouts in uniform it is highly recommended for everyone to dress appropriately in work clothes as we will more than likely be getting dirty.
Remember, Many Hands make Light Work. The more volunteers we have sign up the more effective and efficient we will be as a team.
At Noon we will break for lunch. We do ask that if you wish to have lunch provided you register for it ahead of time. After lunch we will shift our focus to cleaning up our work sites and preparing Allen Hall Dining Hall and Kitchen for the 2017 Summer Camps.
If you have any questions, or are interested in becoming certified to run a chainsaw, or you have some amazing ideas for Camp projects please contact Bob Broomfield, Camp Ranger for CIT.
Looking forward to seeing you at your Camp this spring!
Bob Broomfield, Camp Ranger

Smoke Signals from the Chief
Welcome everyone to the eleventh year of Takoda Lodge! I would like to congratulate all those new members into the Lodge. As always I encourage everyone to read all about all the activities coming up and attend their chapter meetings. It’s some of the best ways to learn on what the OA has to offer!
This year I really want to work on getting to know those at the Chapter level and help them in participating in more fun activities that the OA has to offer (such as Section-wide events that hold over 12 different Lodges). There are also OA high adventures, which are like your average high adventure, but way longer, and much cheaper!
I am happy to be re-elected as your Lodge Chief for my third term. I am excited to say that my team and I have some fun things planned for the next two years, so here's looking forward!!
Anthony Malisch, Takoda Lodge Chief
Renew Your Annual Dues for 2017!
It's time to renew your commitment to Takoda Lodge. Your dues help the Lodge to provide service to our youth, troops and council. Dues are calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31, 2017), and can be paid at either Scout Office or ONLINE.
You could also consider becoming a Phoenix Member. For one fee, you can pay for your dues & Lodge events (2017 Winter Banquet, 2017 Spring & Fall Conferences, 2017 Spring & Fall Work Days), and contribute to the Lodge capital development fund for the council’s camps. Phoenix members will also be mailed a specially designed patch. Membership is non-transferable.
